I had a great trip on September 25th with my ESL hybrid class, and it was the last day of World Music Festival in Chicago. After I spent most of my energies on the bike ride, and had a wonderful dinner of Thailand food (Thanks JoJo), we went to Music Festival at Chicago Cultural Center. First, we had been waiting for other two lovely classmates to join us and went inside the building. It was lively inside, people were free walking around, and some were standing and listened to the music. All beautiful ladies attracted by those traditional Mexican accouterments: dolls; necklaces; candies; foods and more. So l was following behind and took some beautiful pictures with them, until Ms. Gitte brought us to the music show, “Dhafer Youssef.” I was the first time to hear that kind of music. It special than other music, I didn’t even know what musical instrument they used in the show. People all attracted by their music and listen quietly. The second show we watch was the “Son de Madera”: Traditional Mexican Son Jarocho. We were so lucky that we could sit on the table and listened to the music. It was lively after the show started. People were full of that place and became exciting when the lady started to dance. It was a great show ever. Time had come. We couldn’t finish all the show before we left. However, it was a wonderful trip.
